A Sickness of the Heart.

Lord, my heart drowns in sorrow's tide.
How long must your children have to suffer and hide?
Twisted are the hearts of Men!
They only look out for themselves and wound innocent children.
Children who must now take on roles they weren't meant to carry at such a tender age!
A sickness plagues my generation!
A SICKNESS OF THE HEART.
People's intentions are only for their pleasure.
They serve themselves as gods of their own!
The pearls they cherish, bright yet hollow
Are chains of pride they refuse to break.
Their mouths pour boasts, their tongues weave lies
Deceit is in every word they utter
A poison to themselves and one another.
While they bask in their own glory,
their shadows cause destruction.
My silent cries of rage salt the endless sea.
Vengeance chills my trembling hands
yet if I strike, Am I not the same?
