If you are interested in studying in Japan and you want a scholarship, you might want to consider the MEXT scholarship. The MEXT scholarship is a Japanese government-based scholarship and it is also called the Monbukagakusho student scholarship. There are various kinds of the MEXT Scholarship and these are elaborately explained on their site. In order to apply for this scholarship, one needs to get the application link or forms from the Embassy of Japan in your country of Origin. The application dates vary depending on the country.

I was fortunate enough to visit the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and they were able to elaborately explain to me everything I needed to know.

Firstly, if you want to visit the JASSO offices in your country, you need to make an appointment to have a consultation. The consultations are free and one on one. Upon arrival, they will tell you to fill up a form that will enable them to know what courses you are interested in and give them your details so that they can contact you if they get updates on scholarships and the like. After this, the consultant will ask you if you want courses in English or courses in Japanese. Upon your selection, he or she will explain how to use the guide they will give you and what you need to have before applying to a Japanese university.

My advice would be for you to have a consultation rather than just searching online. In case you are interested in learning the language, they will also give you additional information on that.
